WW resource question

Can any city deliver resources to a WW, or is it only the cities that are on the WW island?

Do the other cites in your alliance have to trade to the cities on the WW, or can they trade direct?
The Wiki isn't clear.

Yep you can do it from any city, I'll show you in a second.
