Does Zeus' lightning bolt take out one or more than one level from the building it hits?

I never seen it damage more then 1 lvl. So i guess it does not.

It only takes down one level. It can not take down something from level 1 to level 0

What about super buildings? like thermal bath and lighthouse.

So would it be wise, once you have built the entire city, including the supers, demo the senate to level 1?

Well you can,it will give you more space to build troops.but you should only do this after you built up your whole city,don't waste time on demo.

the problem with that is if somebody bolts, say, your farm... how long will it take to rebuild a farm from lvl39 to lvl40 with a lvl1 senate? if you can hear the answer without throwing up a little in your mouth then go right ahead and take the senate to lvl1 
also, i think there are some buildings that have certain lvl requirements for the senate which you might not be able to rebuild with a lvl1 senate were they to get bolted. so maybe lvl15 or so is a safer option than lvl1
