At time of posting these are the WW with the highest level and the owners

The Temple of Artemis - Harbs @ lvl 6
The Pyramids of Giza - Asylum @ lvl 5
The Hanging Gardens - EotD @ lvl 5
The Tomb of King Mausolus - DoA @ lvl 5
The Statue of Zeus - DoA @ lvl 5
The colossus of Rhodes - DoA @ lvl 5
The lighthouse - DoA, Harbs, EotD @ lvl 5

Apart from Asylum's wonder which is 2 levels higher than the nearest competition all the others listed are just 1 level higher. So far it's very close.

Disclaimer - I have only listed the alliance with the highest rank for each wonder, most are being built by multiple alliances.

*coughs*

Dune - 21 abps in 5 days (admittedly a whole 21 more than me) is hardly the stuff of legends. As an alliance you are basically on a par with IoA, congratulations on your big step up in the world (if you need help to progress we are happy to train you up).

Phil - If they mean nothing why are you organising Harbs to build them? and why did you prevent the Huns from building one? You can always stop at anytime, let DoA do the job and those who are active can move onto the next world.

Again it comes down to this, there are lots of ways to play and lots of ways to win. The fact that you don't like this method is just tough.

Tell me, how does building the wonders mean you have won?

Does the screen change and a message pop up saying "The End, DOA are the Winners"

No it doesnt..... The server carries on, and as hero worlds are still in beta, getting 4 wonders wont even open up a new world.

All that building wonders means is.... You get the bonus, that is it, nothing more, nothing less.

I didn't suggest that was the end of the server it is likely to mark the beginning of the end. However, most likely a significant percentage of the remaining server population will move to the hero world (should it ever arrive) and whoever builds and holds the 4 wonders will have an advantage.

One of the goals is to build and hold 4, this is one definition of winning. Outlasting your opponents, this is one definition of winning. Consistently beating opposition alliances, this is one definition of winning. There are as many ways to win as you choose to define success.

Not a definition of winning at all, but if you have to make stuff up to make you feel like you are a winner, then good for you trooper!!!!!

Many events have sparked the mass leaving of players.

2.0 Coming out
2.0 being forced on Delta
Hero world opening

Delta has always been in a state of decay, at last count you've quit 3 times (?). I'd estimate the player drop out rate to be between 1-2% a week offset by new players joining and old players taking old accounts. Strangely enough you've missed the biggest reasons for players leaving,
  1. a large chunk left after Christmas last year (or more accurately didn't come back),
  2. another chunk after v2.0 was originally delayed,
  3. a large chunk after morale rules were introduced
Every change good or bad leads to an departure from the game. People don't like change.

BN - I've hardly played for a week. I've been completely wide open at times. I even spent a whole 3 days away from the game. Yet still they are wary of attacks. When you have the fight record (dbp and abp - facing whole alliance mass attacks, killer unit attacks, etc) of myself then you come to me and talk this game. Until then zip it. Anyone who has came up against me will say I can play. Anyone.

In terms of my alliance. I again make the point. We are so poor you have fought for two months to take a pretty low number of cities. We still lead across the board in terms of the alliances we face. If we are so poor what the hell does that say about those we face? You know something BN, I've not went into the play I have seen but if you like I can post a series of reports that show unescorted transports etc. And that is DoA. Perhaps you should focus on training there. Certainly my crew were a little rusty and in terms of 53 they have had to learn the game quick since they were predominantly support players. However considering all that, and the resources of those we face, how anyone from Ares can sit here and down the OTC is incredible and marks out the person involved as completely devoid of class.

I don't like the wonders trip BN. I've stated my reasons why. Look at the game and how it is now playing out. Some might like that. I don't. I'm perfectly entitled to hold a view that says this has ruined this world as a game. I'm sorry you feel wonder building is an exciting and fitting way to basically kill this server. I certainly don't.

As an aside BN - Delta has always been in a state of consolidation not 'decay'. Sure some players leave but others arrive as the oceans were opened up and the rim extended. Alliance have changed and now we see more moves towards greater consolidation.

At the end of the day, if this world is to carry on, and if the warring is to carry on, then it all comes down to the alliances who consolidate best. It is, and always will be, about the geo. Points mean little if anything.

I've not said it was exciting I've just said it's an alternative to the usual "I kill stuff therefore I am imba" perspective most people take. I'm happy to state (and actually have) that I think this v2.0 introduction was handled in a ham-fisted way. I also have no doubt as a result the hardest thing about it will not by building or even defending wonders it will be the curse of inactivity when the hero worlds turn out to be delayed.

Whether you choose the words consolidation or decay you only have to look on a map to see the big empty gaps on the map with few players in sight. Even allowing for the people moving between the various alliances IoA has seen 1000+ players pass through in the 18 months of it's existence (1201 changes on grepostats).

At time of posting these are the WW with the highest level and the owner alliance.

The Temple of Artemis - Harbs, Relentless @ lvl 6
The Pyramids of Giza - Asylum @ lvl 5
The Hanging Gardens - EotD @ lvl 6
The Tomb of King Mausolus - DoA @ lvl 6
The Statue of Zeus - DoA @ lvl 6
The colossus of Rhodes - DoA @ lvl 6
The lighthouse - DoA @ lvl 6

As expected the pace of growth as slowed down significantly due to the rapidly increasing requirements. I'm going to guess that the season and waning excitement will take it's toll.

Disclaimer - I have only listed the alliance with the highest rank for each wonder, most are being built by multiple alliances.

Oops me and my maths. That should read "IoA has seen at least 500 players pass through in the past 18 months".

yeah yeah....hows the wonder building going for you now BN??

And as to why I am building them....to keep you from doing it. If you hadnt recruited half the server in order to increase your chances I might not have cared but some of the ploys you guys have played out lately have found you on the wrong end of the scariest beast in Delta. Harbs and their allies will persevere and the fate of DoA will be similar to the last "superior" alliance that was foolish enough to challenge us.

Do you hear that sound?
Can you?
No. Nor can I.

Those who walk mighty are those who stand their ground. No matter the odds. We do not care about Wonders Badnight. Everyone in the Ares 'family' can build to their hearts contents. The point was made. People can run around all excited - making super mergers - flexing their muscles - trashing players on forums on Xmas Day (says a lot) - claims of mighty empires - degrading alliances who do not stand in your rather large 'family' - slaughtering players who simply oppose - play every dirty play in the book then shout about others who step up to that stinking plate - but trust me on this....by the time I am done you will be screaming with frustration at the loss of wonders you all sent a lot of resources to.

Your alliance is history in the New Year.

Mark my words.

Lads, in case you hadn't noticed IoA isn't building any wonders, DoA is. OTC did a classic sneak attack on an inactive player and all power to them for causing disruption and blocking further building work on the DoA lighthouse. Any other comments are unworthy of response as they are covered in just about every other active thread.

The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, Harbs @ 8
The Colossus of Rhodes, DoA @ 8
The Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, Asylum @ 6
The Hanging Gardens of Semiramis in Babylon, EOTD @ 7
The lighthouse on the island of Pharos at Alexandria, EOTD, Harbs @ 7
The Statue of Zeus by Phidias in Olympia, DoA @ 7
The Tomb of King Mausolus II at Halicarnassus, DoA @ 7

lol...

That would have read 4 to DoA. But hey - 'disruption'. You try take that city back BN. That ain't a disruption. That is a cancellation.

As for 'sneak attacks' I am sorry but that is hardly a sneak attack. A sneak attack is what DoA players have done despite agreeing an armistice at Xmas and New Year with Kris. We held that agreement. Ares players have not.

If you come back at me with DoA blah - IoA blah - then the next time you offer an opinion on DoA or my alliance and its war with DoA I shall remind you that you are merely a rugrat IoA and not qualified to hold a view.

Happy New Year by the way.
