normally when ppl waste their poorly constructed bombs at me id flash them up on skype or the forum and have a good laugh about it but its getting a bit sad that nobody knows how to attack anymore, now i could tell you how i build my bombs which is the correct way but theres no way anyone would listen to that anyway so i think its better to get some discussion going and let ppl come to their own conclusions

1 this should go without saying but apparently not so all the way back to basics to start with

never attack with defensive troops, unluckily for me my bs fleet were busy elsewhere otherwise i couldve sunk his ships in port with just a few

2 this is a mistake i see time and time again

escorts, these are pretty sad, it doesnt matter if you're following an ls nuke in because its easy to slip some bs in the middle of an inbound attack chain, if you dont have adequate ls escort then dont fire, you may aswell give bps away

3 judging by how many build these this one is highly debatable

full nukes, the slinger nuke, imo it may be ok if your hitting ppls offence or even better on the rare occasion you hit a hoplite nuke but its no good for clearing defensive stacks that tend to be sword heavy, i never build these

the hoplite nuke, now this is weak in more ways than one, i exploited the weak escort but again imo the hoplite nuke is useless, they're good for cleaning swords but when have you seen a stack with just swords? never for me, a few archers or even popped militia will wipe these out, ive never seen a hop nuke do any damage worth talking about

so how do you attack?....or if you have anymore good examples how do you not attack? lets share the knowledge and resurrect the lost art of attacking

...but yes especially on conq i see the non damage cs attack, i cant begin to count the times ive seen one sniped with minimal ships or even bounced off of militia, i once sniped 3 cs's in 5 hours with the same 20 ls on kappa because it was all i had left to fire with

im sure ill take some flack for it, but i think slow transports are the tanks of the ocean! you need less to send more farm spaces so you have more room for troops.
thats my top tip not going to give to many away

i allways end up trading mine off eventually but in a fresh area i have no problem with slow trans, cs's are slower anyway so they're all good for cs waves....or though, bomb max size has become far less important to me the longer i play, speed of reload is way further up my list of priority's as im so trigger happy they rarely get fully loaded before they're floating again

in early grepo if you lost all your ls everything seemed to die nowdays all attacks have an eliment of breakthrough to them.

there is a ratio of ls to transports that survive and definatly the more ls you send as escort the more transports land so it strikes me there is a sweet spot when hitting a bir wall.
id like to add that as you need more ft to move troops, using slow transports and high numbers of ls equates to the most troops landing ashore when hitting a bir wall

slow trans are better on revolt servers than conq, on conq everything can be about speed, how quickly can you get a cs in and how short can you make the warning, on revolt they know you're planning to cs them 12 hours in advance which means brute force is the order of the day, slow ts are going to come into their own in that situation

......i escort my bombs with 100 ls, even if they bs wall me im not coming out empty handed, the hop guy gave me 2.3k bp and took a proc in return, i cant abide that ratio with my attacks

its not exact science but i recon the sweet spot is 100 ls and 50 slow transports 2/1 ls and filling 50 slow transports is a massive nuke

to get the same land attack using fast transports you would need much more than 50 transports and use more farm spaces so you would have less ls to escort and the ratio of ls to transports would be reversed

still i defo agree that conqest ft and suprise / reload time is better

on revolt its more about value for money make the biggest dents for the least losses as its going to come down to res and rebuild times

look you got caught trying to sink our c ships that is not the act of a freind so dont complain that we did not inform you the nap was over sinking c ships is an act of agression in my book and ends a nap full stop end of story.

also you guys were seriously complacent i got 10k bp in 24hrs attacking you that should not be possible at this stage of the game against a well prepared opponant.

we also took 25 cities from you guys.

Yes, you caught us unprepared, I can't argue with that.

Lilithka ive never played with you before but i remeber your name and i know your a skilled player i also know that lots of good alliances were happy to help TDS and that is a sure sign of some good players i know this because we caught support from so many other teams incoming after we had taken cities.
so we both know that this is a stratergy game and i attacked who i attacked and when because it was the best stratergy to desimate your alliance.

personaly im sure you will fit in much better with acid as the got some great players if zarun had mailed me a couple of days earlier id off probs been a member of acid myself.

i play for fun not to humilate people though i confess ive been know to overstep at times. i dont like it when people hark on about acting without honner when its unfounded kon rouge was one of tds top players i took two cities from him, he was a skilled opponant and i respect him for that though his constant inferal that we were underhanded for not letting him know the nap was over was quiet annoying and unfare i felt as ultimatly we did not break the nap.
