How many Culture Points is that?

Here is the insane chart of Culture Points (each event gives you 1 Culture point in the Agora) required per TOWN (or Culture Level):

Considering you can get 1 Culture Point with 1x50 Gold, or 1 VP, or 1xCity festival, or 1xTheater plays...even if one uses all 4 methods to gain CP's all the way up to 200 cities, thats still 14,925 Gold events = 746,250 Gold required = 62.1875 x 12k gold purchases = $5,036.57 USD = INSANE!

A player can average around 40-50 towns in 1 Ocean...so 1 player covering 4-5 Oceans (out of 70-80 or so usable ones) means you will get end-game around 20 power players at the end.....

The game is geared to favor smaller players. Larger players find it harder and harder to gain town points, eventually there will be little difference for players who stay around long enough to play this game. After around 15-20+ towns a player can easily defend against 40+ town players (may loose some towns, but considering how hard it is to gain CL's, may loose 1-2 towns but will gain a lot of BP to re-grown easily). Any player with 40+ town players can defend against almost all larger alliance attacks (unless its 40+ players and all attackers having 40+ towns lol and if they all have 1-2 town slots free! Even so, its easy to escape to distant towns to survive!). And then theres alliance support for players, again making it impossible to conquer larger players.

This game is alliance based, however with players leaving, getting conquered, etc alliance fall dead - eventually it will not be an issue of conquering player towns, thats a waste of time. This game will be about alliance merges and conquering inactives/ghost towns, its not about attacking other town players.

Your numbers are offset by 1. You can have 2 cities without any culture points. The third one costs 3.

While the numbers look incredible, every city that is not rebuilding can run a festival every other day on a single speed world. Those that are, probably have enough culture coming in from victory processions. So by the time someone has 200 cities, they will be getting 100 culture points a day without spending a single cent.

This thread doesn't really belong in Questions. I think the Acropolis is more its place.

you can't farm in 40+towns to get those 24hour events, unless you spend 12hours per day doing it. On average 8hour day you could do around 30town farming, and even if you alternate per day (to allow mood regen), eventually after 60 towns you wont be able to keep up. Relying on normal resource generation will take about 5 days per town to gain those events, so the 1:1 on them is about right anyhow

The answer you are looking for is:

FV trading!

Yes I know, in the end, players still can't keep up. I suggest that people really look into the "Farming Village quickbar" suggestions in the Ideas section.

You're right, no-one would bother farming all those islands. I stopped after 20.

A level 40 Quarry on a -stone island will produce about 400 an hour. That will take 60 hours to reach the 18000 required for a festival. That's without the merchant or trading. So maybe not 100 festivals a day, but they should be able to manage 80. This is twice as many as they could possibly do with Olympic games.

@Raptok, the only limit on the number of cities you can have is culture.

yes

all you need is 3 culture points per polis so it takes about a week for that, with getting no bp from it, but with bp it would be about 4 days

I agree with Qlander it gets harder and harder to gat new cities and if you look at the amount the CP jumps afetr every conquest hes right the game favours the small guy. It get to much like hard work and yes ive 20+ cities and the ony time i farm is to replenish troops ive lost in battle.

Well said and very right....I used to pay for the Olympic games until I worked out the cost and then STOPPED. What a fool I was and I was soon parted with a ton of gold from my purse....:p......HUGE MISTAKE costing so MUCH for so little gain....50 gold per event and then it takes 5 days.....

So many limitations in this game.....

Barracks being overloaded with work when their should be other buildings, like a workshop and a stables, I am surprised that the temples are not making the mythical units. Also the limitation on colonization such a short distance.....also makes alliances hamstrung.....I wonder why they built in so many limitations into this game......it is a MAJOR hassle to just get proper attack planning and timing and then watch the hour glass going around and around....I recently cleared out a ton of cities and offered them to surrounding players only to be greeted with no free COLONY SLOTS available. If this had happened in tribal wars they would have been snapped up in secs and in grepolis the whole idea failed........then after a major assault a player has to wait a EON to just rebuild and then do it all over again.......No wonder so many GREAT players have left this game.....25 2 life was right....colonization, disappearing farms and so many severe limitations are CHOKING this game....It has HUGE potential but the restrictions this game has is KILLING it....to put it softly.....Maybe one day a useful update will happen and not just cosmetic ones......same with the west and the level cap.....WHY OH WHY does innogames restrict fun?

If you don't like the game, why are you playing it?

On Topic: 60k cp for 200 towns is insane. So is using $5k+ to get there. I got to 32 towns on epsilon (but got to CL 37) and I thought it was an insanely long time to get another city slot. I couldn't imagine trying to get 600 cp to get another city.... But the game's addictive and fun so I play long hours at a time :D

i guess the upper limit would be the total number of cities and anchor points in a world, however many that may be.

the list is incorrect. lvl 50 culture only requires 3528 culture points.

i think the most mbalanced part of this game is all the freaking ghost towns, I can see the use of them at start of the game but ... Everytime a player quits there opens up tons of ghosts, making it impossible to take someone out.

Imbalanced piece of game

Hmm. I might not be the largest player around, but I got some 207 city slots and 63822 culture points.

Depending on my activity level, I don't find it very hard to gain 2-3 new slots every week. As we grow, the number of cities sustaining your growth is also increasing.

Relatively though, my growth is stagnating a bit. I can't farm efficiently in all my cities anymore, and increasingly depend on resource building to sustain my growth. And I don't think it is unfair that it is easier to achieve growth when you are small. Actually I think it is fair and also a somewhat realistic model of the corruption and waste you get in a large empire. You just don't have the time and resources to be on top of it all, all the time.

Some of us manage fairly well at this level, while others don't. I think that is fair. That is what differentiates a good player from an excellent player. IMHO;-D

cheers,
enga
