Guide How to grow your empire

Hey all, so this is my growth guide which I recently made. It's not going to go into detail on what to build for troops in an attack city or anything like that. It is meant for players who have a general grasp of the game and are looking to take their ability to grow up a few notches. Depending on the response from this I may add something along the lines of bp hunting later.

I. Farming

Farming is the single most important thing if you want to accelerate your growth. Farming the villages and players combined will flood you with resources. Now some people are complete freaks and are able to click demand every 5 minutes I am one of those freaks. Fortunately for me I don’t demand resources anymore because I am lazy and really don’t have to. This is because I am passed that point, I farm players around me. The key to this is smash everything around you down with catapults and constantly hit them every day to break the players will if they are active. Eventually they’ll give up and just stop building troops. Once you have a good number of player farms you can waltz into the towns and snatch 20k+ total resources each run. To increase the flow of resources even more you can also farm with your defense towns. Build 20 LS in each town and you can escort your troops to towns where you know the player has given up and snag even more resources!

If you are playing in a hero world I highly suggest researching the tech that allows you to loot favor. I initially am using it for gaining Hera favor so I can cast more pop growths on my towns without continuously asking my alliance for them :p. However, I plan to use this great research to help making mythical creature nukes.

II. Resource Management

Grepolis isn’t just a war game. If you delve down into it the game rewards players for excellent resource logistics. Markets are crucial to achieving success. Many players simply disregard it and claim that it’s a waste of population space. These are the players that oddly enough tend to grow slower than those who know how to properly utilize the market. A level 30 market is a must for proper troop rebuilds and even running city festivals later in the game! Even utilizing the merchants shop is a great way to maximize efficiency – more resources sent faster in less time. I move at least 150k resources on a slow day! I went back to get some screenshots of resource movements and found that when i'm on all day it's well over 250k (this is just with 11 towns)!

Utilize your farming villages’ trading function! It is put there to benefit you. If you need wood in a town that doesn’t have the option to trade for it in a village find one of your town that has several farming villages that will give you wood. Once you get the wood you can then send it to the town that needs it! It is simple and its convenient so do it!

Troop Building:

Seeing how this is grepolis troops are a MUST for attacking other players to keep gaining sustained culture points and city slots. I have seen many players lose a lot of troops after attacking a town and flatline for a week or sometimes even more. This is because they are not using the tactics of farming resource trading! If your barracks are at level 30 along with your harbor at level 30 you are maximizing the speed you are producing your troops. With constant resource movement to towns your troops will be training like crazy.

Flowchart:

Step 1) Farm! I bring in 20k of each resource per hour in this 1 town alone!

Step 2) Move your resources around!

Step 3) Stack your troop builds by using your resources that you moved in! (ask nicely for POP growths and Coto's if you need them!)

Harbor level 30, to me, is useless. In fact, its so useless that the wiki didn't bother to put expansion costs for past level 20. Same for barracks. I'd rather invest 53 free pop in Light ships than train units faster. After you can train chariots (and, in a LS base, you may not wish to bother) the barracks have outworn their usefulness to expand. Other than that, great guide.

Why? As for the chariots, that would mostly be on a conquest world, where you'll need to attack and defend in quick succession. And in a naval city, you can see why even barracks lvl 10 is erroneous

anything thatspeeds reloading is awesome, to compete for top abp lvls its all about reloading and refiring constantly, and building the same thing all the time in a city isnt good, get predictable at your peril, so a naval nuke once wiped can be a land bomb or bs wave next reload if barracks and harbors are maxxed

I'l contribute saying that you don't need harbor and barracks at lvl 30, it depends on your city, if it's a bireme or LS factory barracks should be at lvl 10 or lower and harbor between 22-25 and for land attack or land defensive cities 22-25 barracks and 10 or lower harbor. Is what I prefer. You just miss this two points I guess but it is a good guide. ;)

Uhm, if it's a LS factory there is no logical reason NOT to max out the harbor. I can see the reason for keeping a barracks low as well but i'd rather have a city that is capable of a fast turnover of nuke types than having to reinvest resources and time to do so.

Why would you have a harbor at level 10 in a land attack town? You can't even build a cs in that city. Once again that makes no sense.

label me whatever you want, i can pretty much get 1 direct hit on a player and guess from that where he keeps his defence, att bombs, ls nukes etc, thats why i switch them around on a regular basis, that means having maxxed barracks and harbors everywhere so if one wipes i can build something new there quickly.......apart from im in a morale world so im having to try and keep lower points and even taking time off from growing entirely so i have some ppl to hit but in an ideal world lol

Amen. Flexibility tied to awesome speed and logistics. Good recipe for success.

Addendum: Stealing this for our new recruits training. You've said several things much better than I did. (will be posted with attribution of course.) +rep.

I don't really like having mixed cities as you only have a certain amount of rp and I just research whatever reflects city

aka defense/offense.
