It's interesting because while normally you're correct (and that's actually one of the things I hate about history), the nature of Grepolis is that each multi-world alliance kind of has its own version of history. Because of that, those "lies" about who's the good guy and who's the bad guy get either corrected or at least contradicted. Every side has its own view.
Usually the reason why the winner's view of a conflict is the one adopted in future generations is that the winning side simply punishes anyone who doesn't hold that view. They get called rebels or disturbers of the peace because they're encouraging people to adopt the view that the people in charge of them are evil, or at least it can be made to seem that way. But in Grepolis, there's no real way to punish someone for that, and the entire game is about war so you can hardly be disturbing any peace. Anyone who dies or loses just comes back in their alliance's backline or at the very least in the next world. You just can't punish someone for thinking you're evil.
