I love getting hate mail from people when I know I am right. Had to laugh at what PR sent me. This game takes a long time to play. Those that we are at war with will slowly lose city after city and that is pretty much what is going to continue to happen.

Edit: Those of you on the receiving end only see me as a mean guy. I am actually quite nice and polite to all of my allies on the game. Once you get on my bad side, I take off the kid gloves and I don't talk nice. Actually, once I get really serious, there is no more talking. It's just taking cities at that point.

We are all waiting for Zac to do another analysis. Seems there are some complainers about. The truth of what is going on is in the stats.
DEATH SQUAD is #3 in ABP, #5 in DBP, and #4 for fighting over all. The stats speak very clearly. While other people are busy complaining, we are running up the charts.

One question MK, not trying to be rude or anything, just wondering. If, as you say, your stats speak so clearly for themselves, why do you feel like you have to pump them up so much on the board?

Well, at least our alliance have some stats to be proud of. Apparently, you guys just like pumping your fist on the board and expect me to cower and crawl. I'm the one with a solid alliance and you guys complaining are MRA guys with little to no power. Why are you talking on the board at all. 6 months into the server and you have one 3k city and you expect your opinion to matter to me or any of the other players? I could rim your city any time I want. Honestly, it's too small to be worth anything, but farming for now and you are lucky I haven't done that. You guys from the other server are not the big boys on Sestos and you need to learn your place over here.

Okay, here's my stab at a Top 12 Summary:
Disclaimer: I have studied no stats for Grepolis, nor am I particularly good or experienced at the game. I play it, I enjoy it and that's about it. I cannot wax wistfully about exploits on a world so old they had to log in with punch cards nor am I a middling player on my first world who talks a lot of smack without the stats to back it up. I'm just a red blooded, fun-lovin, all-american boy (bonus if you can guess what song that comes from). If you have one of those fragile egos that takes everything personally, don't bother reading this, you'll just shatter like a Baccarat Crystal vase in a bowling alley. Enjoy!!
1. Imperial Order. Really? What does that even mean? You're here by the Emperor's Decree? Is this the name of a new value meal at Burger King? However, the name does sort of take me back to late 70's special effects and Star Wars, the greatest movie of all time, so I'm guessing you all will win this world hands down. Unless, of course, some scruffy nerf-herder shows up in the Millenium Falcon and blows your Death Star up.
2. Angels of the Apocalypse. 1990 called; it want's its terrible Seattle garage grunge band name back. Seriously dudes, nobody fears the Angels of the Apocalypse, it's the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse that we worry about. Apocalypse Now was probably the greatest movie, other than Star Wars, of all time, so you'll most likely take a beating for a while, then get stoned on a riverboat full of machine guns and grenade launchers, then win the whole shootin' match.
3. Grimoire Heart. I don't even know what this is. What the heck is a grimoire, and why would its heart have anything to do with greek warriors? How do you even pronounce that? This is just too much for a redneck to deal with. Your only hope of winning this thing is if the other two dark guilds of the Balam Alliance come riding in to save you.
4. Death Squad. -10 pts for the unoriginal name. Besides, don't you guys ever study history? These Death Squad things never work out. The Sandinistas, Noriega, Pol Pot, Hussein, Stalin, all of them had death squads and all of them shared ignoble fates. Try Freedom Squad. But every great team needs a cheerleader, and yall have the most vocal cheerleader in ancient Greece, so that negates the bad name penalty. Besides, I did find a pop-culture reference (albeit a made-for-TV move from 1974) to Death Squad, so you're highly likely to win this particular world.
5. Victorian. What? This isn't even a name, it's an architectural adjective describing a gaudy gauche house in the American deep south. Whatever were you thinking? "Fear us, we are Victorian, if you don't submit, we'll don silly hats and come to your home and drink mint juleps all evening." Still, part of the movie "The Patriot" was filmed at a Victorian mansion, so you have a better than even chance of standing in the winner's circle when it's all over.
6. Wings of the Apocalypse. This sounds like the mother of all Tampons!! The Sanitary Napkin of Doomsday is here, run for your lives. Any man who is still married might be cowed by your devious name, but the rest of us are on to your silly ruse. Besides, 'wings' denotes a runner up, not a winner. (i.e. "waiting in the wings") I can't think of a single rock, pop, or rap group that has a name anything close to this, nor have I ever seen a movie with this bad of a name (and I've seen some bad ones, like Pumpkinhead) I'm sorry guys, but I don't think you'll be winning this world. Get to work on a new name, like quick.
7. Captains Crew. I have to admit, when I first saw this name, it was my pick to win the world. Only because I thought it said "Captain Screw" which would have been the best alliance name ever seen on Grepolis. I think I will give the nickname "Captain Screw" to swarren102, but I won't tell him why...... This name does bring to mind the movie "The Caine Mutiny", which was a great movie from a bygone era, so I'll give you a 50/50 chance of being the top dogs at the end of this world.
8. Ravens Gate. Again. What the heck does this even mean? Ravens can fly, you know. They don't need gates. If this is another reference to some bizarre, shadowy anime guild, I'm going to attack you with all 4 of my light ships. That being said, Horowitz is a great author and the Alex Rider series was pretty good. I haven't read the power of 5 series, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and predict an easy victory for you in the world wonder stage.
9. Imperial Order II. Have you people learned nothing? The sequel is never as good as the original! You might as well have named yourselves 'Tokyo Drift'. C'mon, you're a top 12 Alliance, you're not somebody's lap dog! Grab yourself a powerful, original name, like "The Cannonball Run" or "Pale Rider" (My alliance naming consulting service is reasonably priced if you find yourself lacking in imagination or creativity). All that aside, Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back, was another great movie, as was Jedi (the prequel movies should be burned and erased from human memory), so you guys will probably see a temporary surge in greatness, followed by a Death Star implosion of stellar proportions.
10. Peoples Repvblik. These things don't tend to work out any better than Death Squads. Matter of fact, it's usually these people's republics who have the death squads out running around killing all their people. The only pop culture reference I can find to this name is the bar in Cambridge, MA. It was good enough to get written up in Esquire magazine, though, so you might have a chance at success here. Only time will tell....
11. Saints of Chimera. Google popped up with an actual Garage band and this: Church of Saint Chimera: Patron Saint of the weird ones, the lost and bruised, the ones left over at the end of the day. What does this mean? Beats the hell outta me. Only pop reference I have is Boondock Saints, so you get half credit and have half a chance of winning part of something on this world.
12. Valeria Victrix. Sounds like a porn star or stripper's stage name. In fact I think I put about 30 $1 bills in the g-string of a stripper named Victrix once. Oh to be young again. Anywhoooooo back to the serious stuff, this name is really not going to win this world. Its a roman legion, folks, we're fighting in Greece. There's no historical accuracy here!! Besides the Legio XX Valeria Victrix was probably based in what is now Chester, a city which hasn't fixed it's roads in the intervening 2000 years. I hate to say it, but you're probably doomed to go the way of the Kindom of Powys. Ever heard of it? I didn't think so.
For full disclosure, I belong to the Sinners of Chimera. We're not picked to win anything and were doing our best to live up to that expectation. I'm so depressed about the lack of pop culture references to our name that I'm listening to the Cure..... To cheer me up!

if you must know the origins of the name Angels of the Apocalypse it is because most of came over here and founded the alliance from the Omega server where we named the alliance Apocalypse. most of us also liked the epic archangel type cgi images on the internet so thats how we chose are name. Wings is a twist on Angels and angels have wings.

Top 10 Alliances according to Masterful King of Death Squad
I am going to edit this repeatedly since I don't want a server reset to cause me trouble in saying what needs said.
I will try to be fair and honest about my assessments. I am even ranking my enemies higher than they would deserve based on overall points, so I am using the pure basic stats available on the game in this assessment. I look forward to Zac's analysis, but I will do what I can to get this discussion back on track.
ro: This is grepolis, so let's talk about who is doing what and stop all the ego talk and get down to a friendly discussion of what is really going on on Sestos.
Most of the alliances in the top 10 are either main MRA alliances or sub MRA alliances and that will be addressed in this analysis.
#1 Angels of the Apocaplyse
Currently #2 in total points, however, look at the stats, they are #1 for total average points per player and have room available for several more since they have only 42 players. They may clean house soon and merge up their wing since they seem to be making room for it. That would make them a truly solid alliance of winners and probably bump them over IO as the points leader again.
Battle stats: #1 ABP, #1 DBP, #1 Fighters overall. This means they are relentless and fight wars like real grepo players and they are located in the core so they have a good reason for having some DBP unlike some of the alliances I will be reviewing.
I give them the best chance to win this server and that is why they are ranked #1. They have solid leadership and active players and they are doing everything right as they are roughing up Victorian MRA pretty badly right now. All in all, I rate them the top alliance.
#2 Death Squad My own alliance, but I am using the same criteria for analysis of all alliances on this thread, so bear with please.
Currently 4th highest in total points and with the 4th highest average points per player. 46 players and room for more, but with room to kick a few also.
Battle stats: #3 in ABP, #5 in DBP, and #4 overall as fighters. Pretty impressive and understandable that they have the #4 total points score. With a tight core and good officers and good diplomacy this alliance could go far.
Overall, I rank this alliance as #2 in potential to win the server. There is clear evidence of attacking ability and the players have been in some wars so they are good at defending. They have met the challenge and fought back and won their place on Sestos.
Also, this is the only top 10 alliance on Sestos that is no longer MRA. The others should follow suit because the MRA time of the server is over and MRAs are being picked apart rapidly. The DBP rankings of other alliances I review will show this clearly as I continue the analysis.
#3 Grimoire Heart
Currently #3 in overall points and good average points per player with room for more since they have only 43. Are they getting ready for a merge with their wings? Only time will tell.
Battle stats: #2 in ABP, #9 in DBP, #2 in overall fighting. This shows that they have been attacking a lot, but haven't been challenged much yet. They are not in the core and will have to prove themselves against someone stronger than the enemies they have fought, since their DBP just shows they have had easy fights.
I still give them #3 on the server since they seem capable of doing the job and look forward to seeing them do more.
#4 Imperial Order
Currently #1 in total points due to taking in high players from an enemy they recently killed. They don't have room for merging more people and they are MRA, so I can't rate them higher than this just for points.
Battle stats: #5 ABP, #14 DBP, #7 for overall fighting. Doesn't look like they have been challenged yet, so until they fight a real war against a real opponent, I really don't feel they have a better chance at winning the server than rank #4.
#5 Victorian
Huge MRA. Like Spartans, they used to be 4 alliances and we all saw how Spartans ended up.
Currently, they have 3 alliances and the main is ranked #5 in total points with #5 in average points, so that is actually a good thing for them.
Battle stats: #6 ABP, #3 DBP, #3 overall for fighting. Not a good sign since AoA is taking their cities left and right and they are hard pressed to defend.
I rank this alliance 5 on the server since they could merge up the best players from their wings, but they are honestly too bulky and need to trim fat. They don't stand a chance against AoA with their current set up of 3 alliances.
My advice: Cut the fat fast and get your best players together and leave the rest to die and maybe you have a chance at the endgame.
#6 Captains Crew
Currently #7 for overall points and #6 for average points per player and with only 42 players they have room to take in more top players. That is a good thing for them.
Battle stats: #8 ABP, #7 DBP, #8 overall for fighting. My higher rank for CC, just like DS is because they seem balanced and capable, so these guys are a smaller version of DS, but worthy of some respect. They have good leadership and seem like they know what they are doing.
They are at war with VV and DS and so will likely be wiped off the map soon, but let's give them some respect and rank them #6 just for playing well. I consider them to be a real enemy and worthy of fighting against at least.
#7 Ravens Gate
Currently #8 for total points and #7 for average points per player. They are 44 players, so have room to merge up their MRA and become a stronger alliance.
Battle stats: #4 ABP, #13 DBP, #6 for total fighting prowess. This is very good for attacking, but shows that their wars against people like SoC and others haven't met much resistance, but I think they have good leadership and have some capabilities in war. Once they get attacked by someone strong enough to test them, we will see how they perform.
For now, I can only rank them #7, but they are better than the rest of the top 10 I am listing beneath this post. I look forward to them doing some good work in the months to come.
#8 Wings of the Apocalypse
This is the wing of AoA and as such is composed of the lesser players of the semi-MRA alliance group. They are full of people AoA killed already and took in from lost wars. Overall, no chance of winning the game unless a player moves up to AoA from here. The rest are just food waiting to be eaten or used.

What can I say about an alliance that is full of simmers and only has 20 or 30 half decent players between their 2 alliance MRA group?
Currently, #10 in total points and spread all over the oceans and full of inactive players. Low average points per player since they invited everyone in their area. I know they have some good officers since I was once in a pact with them, but they are totally incapable of stopping anyone from taking over cities in their area.
Battle stats: #11 ABP, #4 DBP, #9 overall for fighting. Their enemies have been tearing them down and their stats say they don't fight much on offense, they just defend simmers who happen to be online.
Overall analysis on this, they are too big and need to trim their fat. Combine your best players and hope for the best, but my alliance DS is taking out inactives at will. We aren't in a hot war, but you recruited all of our food and we will take any city we want. Sorry, but we will take any city we want from you.
I expect this alliance to melt down very soon.
#10 Imperial Order II
This is the wing of a top 4 alliance I ranked earlier and I am totally unimpressed right now. Their top alliance is #1 on population, but I had to rank them 4th as a chance at endgame win. This MRA wing here is so weak I doubt they could fight out of a paper bag. There are stronger alliances coming up in the top 20, one of which, I am working with that is impressing me. I won't mention their name here, but you guys know who you are.
OK, so let's look at stats on this alliance.
Currently, #9 in total points, with a very low average per player.
Battle stats: #14 ABP, #21 DBP, #16 overall fighting. This shows these players haven't fought anyone with any skills yet.
Wings are annoying. I should have stopped at the top 7 alliances honestly, since these last 3 are all disappointing and not worthy of mention, but they will all be replaced soon as the hungrier and tougher alliances coming up get their teeth into them
This concludes my analysis of the Top 10 Alliances of Sestos. I will expect some changes at the bottom of the list soon. The top of the list is not going to change much. There is some room for things to change in the middle depending on the next week.

I will try to be fair and honest about my assessments. I am even ranking my enemies higher than they would deserve based on overall points, so I am using the pure basic stats available on the game in this assessment. I look forward to Zac's analysis, but I will do what I can to get this discussion back on track.
ro: This is grepolis, so let's talk about who is doing what and stop all the ego talk and get down to a friendly discussion of what is really going on on Sestos.Most of the alliances in the top 10 are either main MRA alliances or sub MRA alliances and that will be addressed in this analysis.
#1 Angels of the Apocaplyse
Currently #2 in total points, however, look at the stats, they are #1 for total average points per player and have room available for several more since they have only 42 players. They may clean house soon and merge up their wing since they seem to be making room for it. That would make them a truly solid alliance of winners and probably bump them over IO as the points leader again.
Battle stats: #1 ABP, #1 DBP, #1 Fighters overall. This means they are relentless and fight wars like real grepo players and they are located in the core so they have a good reason for having some DBP unlike some of the alliances I will be reviewing.
I give them the best chance to win this server and that is why they are ranked #1. They have solid leadership and active players and they are doing everything right as they are roughing up Victorian MRA pretty badly right now. All in all, I rate them the top alliance.
#2 Death Squad My own alliance, but I am using the same criteria for analysis of all alliances on this thread, so bear with please.
Currently 4th highest in total points and with the 4th highest average points per player. 46 players and room for more, but with room to kick a few also.
Battle stats: #3 in ABP, #5 in DBP, and #4 overall as fighters. Pretty impressive and understandable that they have the #4 total points score. With a tight core and good officers and good diplomacy this alliance could go far.
Overall, I rank this alliance as #2 in potential to win the server. There is clear evidence of attacking ability and the players have been in some wars so they are good at defending. They have met the challenge and fought back and won their place on Sestos.
Also, this is the only top 10 alliance on Sestos that is no longer MRA. The others should follow suit because the MRA time of the server is over and MRAs are being picked apart rapidly. The DBP rankings of other alliances I review will show this clearly as I continue the analysis.
#3 Grimoire Heart
Currently #3 in overall points and good average points per player with room for more since they have only 43. Are they getting ready for a merge with their wings? Only time will tell.
Battle stats: #2 in ABP, #9 in DBP, #2 in overall fighting. This shows that they have been attacking a lot, but haven't been challenged much yet. They are not in the core and will have to prove themselves against someone stronger than the enemies they have fought, since their DBP just shows they have had easy fights.
I still give them #3 on the server since they seem capable of doing the job and look forward to seeing them do more.
#4 Imperial Order
Currently #1 in total points due to taking in high players from an enemy they recently killed. They don't have room for merging more people and they are MRA, so I can't rate them higher than this just for points.
Battle stats: #5 ABP, #14 DBP, #7 for overall fighting. Doesn't look like they have been challenged yet, so until they fight a real war against a real opponent, I really don't feel they have a better chance at winning the server than rank #4.
#5 Victorian
Huge MRA. Like Spartans, they used to be 4 alliances and we all saw how Spartans ended up.
Currently, they have 3 alliances and the main is ranked #5 in total points with #5 in average points, so that is actually a good thing for them.
Battle stats: #6 ABP, #3 DBP, #3 overall for fighting. Not a good sign since AoA is taking their cities left and right and they are hard pressed to defend.
I rank this alliance 5 on the server since they could merge up the best players from their wings, but they are honestly too bulky and need to trim fat. They don't stand a chance against AoA with their current set up of 3 alliances.
My advice: Cut the fat fast and get your best players together and leave the rest to die and maybe you have a chance at the endgame.
#6 Captains Crew
Currently #7 for overall points and #6 for average points per player and with only 42 players they have room to take in more top players. That is a good thing for them.
Battle stats: #8 ABP, #7 DBP, #8 overall for fighting. My higher rank for CC, just like DS is because they seem balanced and capable, so these guys are a smaller version of DS, but worthy of some respect. They have good leadership and seem like they know what they are doing.
They are at war with VV and DS and so will likely be wiped off the map soon, but let's give them some respect and rank them #6 just for playing well. I consider them to be a real enemy and worthy of fighting against at least.
#7 Ravens Gate
Currently #8 for total points and #7 for average points per player. They are 44 players, so have room to merge up their MRA and become a stronger alliance.
Battle stats: #4 ABP, #13 DBP, #6 for total fighting prowess. This is very good for attacking, but shows that their wars against people like SoC and others haven't met much resistance, but I think they have good leadership and have some capabilities in war. Once they get attacked by someone strong enough to test them, we will see how they perform.
For now, I can only rank them #7, but they are better than the rest of the top 10 I am listing beneath this post. I look forward to them doing some good work in the months to come.
#8 Wings of the Apocalypse
This is the wing of AoA and as such is composed of the lesser players of the semi-MRA alliance group. They are full of people AoA killed already and took in from lost wars. However, there are a few good players in this alliance who could merge with AoA and make that a singularly awesome alliance. The rest are probably food. Urog, for example ended omega as #1 in points, #1ABP and #1 DBP and my friends have told me he is the best sniper in the game.

Very fast reply for a guy who said he would have an analysis by monday or tuesday bro and who asked me for all sorts of intel. I made it juicy at least. My analysis, is still pretty valid considering I didn't use any preference for other players. Heck, I rated CC higher than they deserved based on stats mostly since they look good to me. They are my enemies, but I respect them.
