To be fair, Iceman had an advantage out of the gate that most players did not. He was able to leverage Innogames generosity with gold paid to their volunteer staffers to gain a sizable lead. Granted, he has grown with his BP though he holds a 71st ranking in total BP, which just means people tend to not attack him since he is 28th in BPA.
With his city count lead through May of last year, he was able to use his exhaustive experience playing these Innogames to efficiently grow his account through more traditional means. I think I can learn a lot about how to effectively run City Festivals at a shorter interval.
Iceman clearly deserves our respect, and he should be considered for the exceptional skill he has used and the benefits of Gold that assisted him. The total player is key here.

I use gold for the administrative overview . . . it definitely helps me in the maintenance of my account. I do not think Innogames gives a hoot about how much gold we purchase. Heck if they have 1000 players buying 1500 gold each month, then that is $15990 USD per month for one server. I would love to see their breakdown of premium accounts per server.

I am the refugee I that is in question here but that is no longer the case as i have quit the game .
I am the architect of Echo Squad and I know them better than most.
There are some quality fearless members in Echo Squad who were outstanding agressive players , some of there attacking play is second to none . Players such as dongkidoy , eminem007 , maxiromulous , om4ever2009 , Curious Badger , Ioannus , TishT .
Unfortunatley they turned on me and i'll be honest it was very difficult to take especially as it was not some faceless alliance that was attacking me it was my what I thought were grepolis mates.
I totally accept that this is a war game so I should suck it up and take the hits however there is more to the story than that
When Echo Squad formed they asked me to join but as in life i am a loyal person and I vowed to stay true to Orthia . I recieved numerous messages from Wanax and mike bishop and others wishing me well and that we would be friends forever etc.
Wanax was always at a loss as to how I constantly outranked him in all fronts despite him being a full premium player I was ranked 13th I was the 5th ranked attacker and the tenth best fighter overall . I guess he found a way to pass me in the rankings ......
I had a friendship with Mike Bishop which developed when I spared him this was also the case with Lord Kp . I also saved pentagrams when he was booted and trained and supported him and there are numerous other types of examples of this . I had lead all these guys into battle at one stage or another .
This is not a top alliance its not even close , we wont see them engage in a genuine war as most of there quality players are based in the southern oceans and the ones based in the northern half of there territory are pretty much useless . The will continue to grow through aquiring inactives or isolating targets that have no chance of defending themselves so although you may not have heard of them fear not the larger alliances have nothing to worry about
You will find Wanax is a bit of a narcissist and does as been suggested hide behind his alliance and if you read his posts you will see a desperatley needy player that craves attention and adoration hence him trolling this thread and yes I am bitter , this was a great release for me to play this for a few hours every day . I am at home caring for both my parents that became very ill very suddenly and despite Wanax and Mike bishop and Lord Kp knowing this they still attacked ..... not the actions of the best players or alliance

I am not sure what you mean man. There are always those whose self-interest outweigh their concern for anyone else. Lets all be honest here . . . this game is going to boil down to where 1-3 players own an ocean and alliances will become less structured.
I give wanax props for seeing this and his willingness to leach off of others. I just hope he does not get bored and quite before he makes it to my neck of the woods.

Sure, that is clear and understandable, but to turn on someone like that, knowing vital information, and who were once ally's, "friends". It is just a shame for something like that to happen.
An alliance against alliance and their diplomatic/political efforts are usually orientated differently and have no bearing ultimately on personal relationships or ally's, but in this case it has nothing to do with that.
I just find it sad the way dave portray's it.
I also feel playing the game just to hide behind other players instead of exapanding to take over other oceans to be a shame. I am not saying Wanax is doing this, just that I would get bored as hell playing this game that way.

I was waiting for this post and it's not a coincidence that it appears now. As usual this is a very one-sided and narrow-minded representation of facts, presented by a, logically, frustrated man.
I have no intention to make this a long discussion, because due all my experience with them (Master-instigator and word-twister Sch01ar included) this has proven to be a waste of time.
But for the sake of Echo Squadron I want to present some facts:
Eminem077 and I decided to leave Orthia for 2 reasons: 1) leadership was only busy with their own things and there was no communication and definitely no desire to improve the alliance and 2) we were tired of world politics and wanted to play local.
As soon as we left we got a bunch of invite request from ex_orthians. We accepted about half of them and unfortunately had to turn down the other half because of locality issues.
We decided to learn from Orthia's mistakes and keep the alliance small, make it democratic (that was a new concept compared to Orthia) and again, local.
Dave has never received an invitation, nor would he have gotten one. There were too many players (including myself) who have had serious fights with him while in Orthia and many people threatened to leave if he would come. Maybe some have written him for friendship, but I have never written him a single letter and certainly not to call him a friend, because, simply we weren’t.
Being a democracy, we plan our actions together and members come up with plans for targets and we vote about it. One of our main votes was to secure ocean 77 where Dave was the biggest player. Almost unanimously this passed the vote. This was, for me at least, not personal, but strictly strategic. I can’t blame people when they think otherwise.
We thought he would appreciate this honor, because he was always bragging what a huge warrior he was and that he was bored that no one wanted to attack him (even left Orthia briefly for that). As soon as we started attacking him, we got loads of cheers, compliments and offers for support from many people outside of our alliance (even from inside Orthia!). And sch01ar, who 3 weeks before that, begged me in a PM to come back to help him save ‘HIS’ alliance, wrote us a friendly message where he told us we were scum. But he didn’t know that we had some loyal followers in Orthia (There were not spies; just some persons who didn’t agree) that both Dave and Sch01ar asked for war against us. That was before we even attacked Dave. We simply were first. Nice to be willing to attack your friends!
After he switched to TW-S, the battle continued, but not after we got some very angry, frustrated messages with lots of F-words, where he wished us and our families the most terrible things.
Well, Dave, you got your wishes, congratulations! I'm forced to quit the game soon due to serious health issues and my sister in law just was diagnosed leukemia. You must be ecstatic about this! It certainly fits your persona.
On to some other pertinent lies/inconsistensies:
- The fact that you parents were ill, was unknown to me. You only wrote that in your colorful goodbye message. I’m honestly sorry for this, but this has nothing to do with the game.
- I started premium when I hit 45 cities and only ever used administrator and captain
- Dave names a lot of people excellent players, and I certainly won't deny that, but why didn't he ever make the effort to write them back when they had questions for him back in Orthia?
- Why does he call me narcissistic when every opportunity he got as a Senator you’d hear the words: “I’m the Senator and they are all pure e. They should realize they are playing for us”. (literally copied from a message he sent me)
- If I hide behind my alliance, how come I’m present in 7 oceans and battling at 4 fronts at the same time? Could that be the reason that I score an average of 100K bpa each month?
- The myth that we conquer inactives is stubborn and false. Why are these players inactive? Where do our bps come from? We are ranked 8th in bpa list for an alliance that’s 3 months old. Could it just be, that we knocked the people inactive? Even Dave, must know about this, but I guess you always take the things that explain your own words the best.
I could go on, but I think it’s better I stop here. I just wanted to tell part of my side of the story before others start to judge me, and even worse, Echo Squadron and its members, based on these false accusations. I expect responses with the same lies again and especially some nasty remarks from sch01ar. It’s fine by me. You won’t hear from me again. If anyone would like to know more about some of the stuff that happened, I can supply names of impartial persons outside of Echo Squadron who can back me up in almost everything stated here. But maybe it’s the best for everyone not to waste their time to this.
I wish everyone the best, in RL and in the game. Maybe we’ll meet again some day.
