Lol I don't speak for everyone but most of the players that got the first 4 wws have played together on more then just one world and understood. Granted we lost the crown we won the world real life happens nothing we can do about it. It's the past seeing as everyone on this world keeps coming back to that one thing on prae as a kind of stab on him I also find hysterical because none of you all can show any originality.

We lost sinopes crown compared to how many world's the crew has won and will win in the future I think we are going to be ok lol.

As for sloth you call his insult pathetic well look in the mirror yours is just as bad least on sinope when we got insulted people were original .

Only 115 players won the world (those that were selected to be in the main alliance) the other ~700 players won nothing once your wonders got bust.
Anyway when real life happens most people hit VM especially for pre planned events like moving house.

Viv ghosted because Red (who was the founder of Ni in Nysa) turned nasty in the next world and they had WORDS... If I were her I'd have been mightily offended too. You have only Red to thank for that happening. It was also over. World was won. We stuck around for all Ni branches to get crowns. At the time several of us stopped playing there, it wasn't clear what the deal was with the Barbarian players at that time either - so you can't pin that on Viv or myself. Talk to whoever in Ni leadership you had as a liaison. We did our part. As for calling Barbs our teammates.. that is stretching the definition somewhat Prae. A small handful of Barbs sent some res to help wonders. That is all. You were removed by two oceans from ourselves and we neither shared any forums nor chat rooms. I'm not even sure why the deal was offered. Ni had the numbers to win without the extra res I am sure.

When I ghosted I gave the remaining players time to take my cities. So, again, talk to the ones who wanted to play on in a dead world about that. Perhaps they could have gotten in some barbs members them to help absorb all the ghosts? I don't know what went down after that coz I wasn't there. But I am surprised to see that finishing up in a finished world somehow makes me a candidate for distaste.

As for 'EN hating', I have to say a good strong enemy with a good strong reputation is a wonderful thing to have. Take it as a testament to your victories. It's the tall poppy syndrome. The exact same motivating force that makes people want to pick on certain top ranked players from time to time. It is also generally intended in good sport. Those few times one or another of us gets too personal in their insults they are called out and their good nature is rightfully brought into question, and from there stronger dislikes are sometimes formed. I am sure all commentators in the externals are a little guilty of it at times. However, if anyone feels they have been more insulted than QoQ's top members in this server I'd like to see the logic behind it. We have been on the defensive against innumerable accusations and insults from the moment we started to top the rankings and yes, our responses to those accusations and personal insults are sometimes strong. You want a world where no-one insults anyone or hates anyone? Then control your own members and your own mouths and play the game in the spirit we all once enjoyed.


EN have had a good run. Personally I can see why the general impression of outsiders is that EN tries to win by recruitment though. It does seem that EN leadership has lacked confidence in it members and goes for overkill so I'm sure that others see it the same way. You may not like the assessment but it's probably pointless arguing against the irrefutable evidence (ie: sheer numbers in the coalition)

I stopped playing when the game had clearly become an overly monetized scam. I don't care who wins this world. I have no horse in this race.

However Zaran was a friend once and a decent guy. So I will say a few words on the occasion of his passing. He loved this game ... He wanted to beat EN so bad. That was his Great White Whale. Based on the evidence I would say Zaran ghosted two days ago. So another long time player bites the dust. I am happy for him if this means he has finally kicked his addictive obsession. I feel a bittersweet sorrow for the rest of you. There are so many better things that you could be doing with your short lives. So before anyone makes another snarky comment or starts gloating over this sad little moment... perhaps you should take a look in the mirror and ask yourself who is the real winner?

Mate I quit grepo too.... while i put up with the scam....the wholesale/rampant cheating just put me off... so i can empathise with what you say...

having said this...I quit grepo/abdera a little before Zarun...maybe a fortnight ....i told peeps in my alliance of this...i handed over all my cities to team mates (except two maybe that were lost)...and quit... I did not ghost... to me when a player ghosts... more so when he comes out of VM to specifically ghost.. he is basically telling his team mates - I am too upset/angry/whatever to be bothered to have any consideration for you all - my team mates.......and that is the bottom line...

you will notice i have asked why he quit....twice in fact ...but none of his good friends and nobody from his team (Canby/Sloth ??... ) has chimed in with an answer !!....tells you all you need to know about this really - if you think about it....altho its always nice to hear what spin Canby has to provide

The concern is truly touching.... have you noticed though that none of the 700 come here to whine about it ?...only a few well meaning angels, not unlike urself, who burn eternally on their behalf

Top-115 players were chosen based on objective stats and parameters. They weren't just leaders' lovers, favorites or puppies.
Other coalition won crowns simply because they were more active and better motivated. Sometimes you lose and have to face it.

I got to admit, Abdera's EN has other leadership and other core players, much better core players, so it's irrelevant comparison.

Prae can afford moving his furniture every weekend and still EN will win Abdera.

Zaruns leaving was replied to Prat. You musta missed it. We wish him all the best as RL has obviously hit him with an unexpected drama. Surely it was obvious since he ghosted while we were unprepared for it. If it were just a case of cowardice or whatever you all suspect, he would at least have taken time to hand his cities over in a controlled manner. Logic. It's worth using.

When you are about to make the biggest financial move in your life the last thing on your mind is logging into Grepolis to make sure you enact Vacation Mode. That's like wiping all the porn sites from your favorites before your wedding day. RL excitement trumps cyber happiness by a long shot.

Am I sad to see my RL priorities muddled someone out of a crown? Of course. (I'd be a bit upset too if the roles were reversed.) Have I explained myself to the few players that messaged me to see what happened rather than throw their cereal at their computer screen in fits of rage? Of course.

Don't take my explanation as an excuse though. I'm not going to apologize for having a life. Those who understand, understand. Those who don't, will keep bringing it up as if it will help them win some sort of argument. Meanwhile I'm over here still having had won Sinope and every other server I've played. Just saying...

Paul Bruce goes on VM, getting hit for 4 days constantly coupled with a busy real life, and EN players rejoice because the boogeyman is gone, they take to the externals and send out MMs like there's no tomorrow, send out cocky PMs to us. My point is, you only say that when it suits you.

First and foremost, show me one post when I am bashing someone for hitting VM. Show me one cocky PM I I've sent anyone in QoQ. So when you take to the externals to pick a fight, do it with someone deserving. I also only mention Zarun because your alliance was so outspoken here when EN had that week of player ghosts. (Kurbads./Manster etc.) Feel free to sift back a few pages and prove me right.

As far as city takes go, well, we've taken our share in past 48 hours as well ;P

Realer? I think thats hard to judge based on what little info you can extract from external forum posts.

Congrats.... but your one of the lucky ones, the ones that get selected to be in the main alliance when the 4th Wonder is completed.

Funny story if I am not mistaken for that very reason most EN agreed wont be playing on 120 alliance servers anymore and sticking to 40. Also throwing out there I played on 2 other worlds with prae and erik before I got into the main group. It's not just winning the main members know what they are doing and most enjoy playing with each other so its usually just a matter of time.

What on earth are you talking about. Payment in kind is purely when someone gives a favor as opposed to financial payment. So maybe gold via the market, or resources, or city handoffs or something. Was asked if you were paid or unpaid, i suggested a third option of payments in the form of in game services.

I know you guys love reporting everyone in game to try and get bans, but dont try those underhand tactics with me. thank you.

For the record, please do not accuse players of trolling, that is uncalled for. If you have an issue please use the built in report system rather than calling players out as trolls. On most forums that sort of behaviour is considered worthy of reporting.

Dunno about the latter (do you?)... but agree with the former...arguments on the externals (hair pulling and biting too) is one thing....but i think most of us wish the others 'all the best in RL'

I never said I suspected this - although its plausible...and I can see someone thinking so (for real or imagined reasons).. personally i leave such things to the likes of Canby (they are really good at connecting dots - real and imagined)

If anyone has a real life crisis... they will not.... log into grepo....cancelling VM.... and go to settings to Ghost....now if that someone is a seasoned player who knows the front end from the back end of a horse... he would ....if he had the time to log into grepo (as in this instance).... post to forum or skype mentioning the crisis (in detail or sketchily as the case may be) - in short informing peeps (which u werent as u all were caught with ur pants around the ankles).....this may have been followed by an assisted or unassisted handover of cities... depending on what bandwidth he had available.....what a player in his situation will NEVER do is Ghost...creating a situation where a bete noire like EN gets to take cities of his..... a player however will definitely ghost.... if there are other reasons for it... for example if a player was so upset/angry at something or someone.... he would say FU... I am done ...and Ghost (implying - I dont care who takes my cities...i am so done with you all) ...or some permutation or combination of such a scenario...

..Logic. It's worth using.
