They never had that on their profile? The exact word they used was "protectorate" of ML. Meaning ML protected this alliance. Pretty much just an ally but we wanted a pretty name for it :)

CB never were, or never will be an academy to ML/EH. They are just a kick-*** alliance on our northern border. <3 CB.

You didn't think of a great name for it, the first one is what i generally thoguht a protectorate as;

In history, the term protectorate has two different meanings. In its earliest inception, which has been adopted by modern international law, it is an autonomous territory that is protected diplomatically or militarily against third parties by a stronger state or entity. In exchange for this, the protectorate usually accepts specified obligations, which may vary greatly, depending on the real nature of their relationship. However, it retains sufficient measure of sovereignty and remains a state under international law. A territory subject to this type of arrangement is also known as a protected state.

A second meaning came about as a result of European colonial expansion in the nineteenth century. Many colonized territories (mentioned on this page) came to be referred to as "colonial protectorates", but were not regarded as separate states under international law.[1] Entities referred to as "international protectorates" can become so subordinated to the protecting power that in effect they lose their independent statehood.

This is back tracking abit, but it should be said.

In Sapphire Sorrows defense (and i don't defend her very often), it's been on the table for awhile in Phalanx to clear the few Pheno cities out of o47. It took awhile but it looks like they actually are trying too. Kudo's to them. We all know that Phalanx and Pheno (now Dragon Slayer) don't share a true border. Phalanx picked off outlying Pheno cities and thats what they should do and continue to do. It has nothing to do with being at war, its just good policy.

And yes, Sapph loves to play up an victory as a massive triumph, just live with it boys. ;)

This is pretty much exactly what the pact was. ML (now EH) were the "stronger state". We said we would protect the "territory", in this case, CB. We only really have asked them to join in on our wars and sometimes if a player in their area asks to join us we will tell them to ask to join CB.

CB is it's complete own entity and has it's own sovereignty as your paragraph even states. Nowhere does it say anything about this state being a training ground for troops of the "stronger" state.

So I really don't get your point because this paragraph says exactly what we have been calling the pact and nowhere strengthens your argument that a pact ML and CB made and should know about is in fact not what ML/CB thought it was and is actually an Academy neither alliances involved were aware about. Haha saying your argument like that makes it sound even more stupid. Everyone arguing that CB is an academy should now feel stupid. Run along now.

I have to say that this post captures the relationship between CB and ML perfectly. If you have any questions about it, refer to this post.

Yes, yes it may capture it perfectly but it isn't advertising it perfectly. Three people out of three were under the view that CB is some academy/weaker alliance with protection from ML etc. So protectorate, the word you guys have chosen is making the wrong impression on people who aren't educated by you to believe otherwise. Maybe you should change it to Event Horizon is now in a relationship with Controlled Burn; simples ;3

Or perhaps we couldn't give two sh*ts about what others think the meaning of the word is and we keep doing our thing. As long as we know what it means who could care less.

Well excuse us for thinking people had brains and new what protectorate meant. Either way. Over this stupidity and could not care less what people that are both oceans away and have nothing to do with us think the meaning of a word means.
