Previous events run by Grepolis were usually welcomed as a fun diversion. This one is not.

What do you expect Transient, the use of the gold is how they make money. Why would you even be bothered about it? It's kind of pointless apart from the free buffs in my opinion anyway

I was not the first to complain about Grepolympics and I'm certainly not alone in my disappointment at that event. See http://forum.en.grepolis.com/showthread.php?38035-Grepolympia-is-too-much for many pages of discussion about this matter - both for and against. Complaints are far from limited to this world.

You may have made twelve contributions but that does not count as twelve opinions.
My reading of that forum is that the vast majority of opinions (Grepolis employees and moderators excepted) are not in favour of the way the Grepolympics is structured as it is seen as unbalancing the whole game in favour of excessive expenditure by some.

Orestos , i may agree with you that it helps those fighting the MRAs greatly... (and leave the grepolympics .. i or no other player would have any doubt in your abilities)
But can you please tell me how fair it is to loose a 8.6k city (hes my neighbour) you have been working on since nearly starting of the world to a guy who was nearly inactive but just increased his city from 6k to 9.7k in 2days and is continuously attacking you with nukes ... all due to power of money ..
Just tell me how can the non gold users survive will you???..
P.S. : i say all this with no disrespect for you .. infact you are a great player but i want you to see the plight of others too..

Transient... i expected you to know how manipulating words VAST MAJORITY are... VAST MAJROITY is not 100 players complaining on forums, and i would also expect you to know that complaining ''minority'' is always more vocal that those neutral and/or in favor of something.
So dont use manipulatory examples...
A noob is a noob my friend... you can give all the gold available to a NOOB and he will fail cos they send unescorted transports, attack with biremes, archers, cerberi, send CS as revolt attack.
As i read from you, it is CLEAR you made a strategic mistake already, you (or someone from alliance) should've conquered the guy AGES ago if he was inactive...
I guess you have noone else to blame but yourself besides we knew for many days in advance olympics are coming and anyone smart KNEW gold users will get big advantage, and everyone now being hammered is their own fault for not preparing...
Also this is a TEAM game... problem is cos players cannot work together in MRAs etc... send support wth... you have 12h window and if you are in good alliance they will protect you good enough... problem is cos it seems except for Paragon and Spider Monkeys hardly anyone is capable to do so against true organised operations.

He was inactive in the sense not as active as me (i played nearly whole day long) ... also his alliance was and is not a target for us right now .. and as for the alliance part i think you can figure out yourself what alliance i am in, by my username (i will narrow down by saying our alliance are on very good terms so know that i am not in a MRA) . Also i am not under attack, my neighbour is who is allianceless ..
the thing is i am playing this game for the first time and i didnt knew that olympics would mean such a scenario...

My point still stand a player half active should be conquered asap... especially if city is as big as you claim this city was (6k points :O)
I still believe this is a strategic mistake of you or/and anyone around your islands from your alliance.
Someone should've conquered him when he was inactive for XY hours and be done with it.
I cleaned out everyone within 3h radius except for a few unknowns but they will get their share soon enough
And my part about MRA was meant general.
most player complaining about grepo olympics are in alliances that are getting hammered severely now by elite alliances.
When there were 120 of them vs 22 of us and they did some LBs on me all was good i didnt cry about it now i paid back everyone back with interest rates some extra players now they say its imbalanced lol

The Grepolympics has a lot answer for.The massive benefits in favour and resources your money has bought you and others in Paragon is an outrage. You have tried several times before and failed - your money will purchase your alliance at least one city by tomorrow.

You will have the city you purchased soon enough. The reports will not matter one way or the other as I know how you got the resources for all your military units and all the favour.
