In IOTA we have an ongoing poll in our alliance and our allies that so far is going more in favor of the NO vote on the upgrade than the yes vote.
I for one don't like the new interface. The new windows popping up inside the interface are a major pain to deal with. Constantly looking at the map view rather than the view of your cities is part of the reason the system is lagging. The map view in any world uses much more processing room on anyone's computer and if your computer isn't a state of the art gaming computer, it will freeze your computer and cause more problems than it is worth. My computer was specifically built for gaming and while it may not be state of the art, it has handled far more demanding online games loads better than the new 2.0 interface without so much as a minor glitch. However, when I played the 2.0 worlds, the new interface caused my computer to freeze every 5 minutes and it wasn't a fault of my computer since the first few times it happened caused me to run a diagnostic on my computer to see if any of the parts or programming was malfunctioning to cause the problem. I even had some friends who are more proficent in programming computers take a look and we all came to the same comclusion, it wasn't my computer that was causing the problem. The new farming system is boring. True it is more effcent, but where is the fun in effcent? These are just a few of the things I don't particularly like about the 2.0 worlds
What I'd really like to know is if at the very least Innogames will take into account what the communities in each of the 1.x worlds wants upgraded. For example, if the majority of the players in IOTA didn't want the new 2.0 interface, would Innogames respect that? Or would they just force us to deal with the complete upgrade? I also think that it might prove to be more beneficial to Innogames to do the upgrade in steps, like a few features a month for example. Like the first month, they might add the new premium features and Hades upgrades to the 1.x worlds and the next month they might add another set of upgrades. Yes it would take more time, and I'm sure the programmers would have difficulty with the differences in the lines of code, but wouldn't the extra effort to make the transition go smoother for those in the community who are resistant to the idea end up being a much better pay off in a multitude of ways?
Unfortunately, the Innogames employees higher up in the food chain than the mods, tend to be rather arrogant and ignorant to what will be better for the community as a whole. I really don't like saying that about anyone, let alone some of my own countrymen. But the truth is the truth, no matter how much it may offend someone, it is what it is and there isn't anything anyone can do about it but point it out and hope that someone will learn and improve.
