In my opinion we shouldn't do improvements that will bring the old guys back but rather we should improve the game so that new players join grepolis and enjoy it. Currently games like clash of clans are very popular and one of the reasons (in my opinion) is the attacking system. In grepo all you do is timing and sending the wave you dont actually fight but in clash of clans you deploy the troops and use spells in opportune times. Maybe changing the way attacks get carried out might attract new people to play the game. Add some action to this game, don't make the player issue orders only but add some real time strategy elements into the game...
First of all stop the forum sharing feature so that alliance caps are respected.
Next, end game need to be change. It should be based on attack/defense points, cities wins etc. Rather than simming, sending resources, rotating players.
Make morale related to time in the game rather than points. Players who join the world first day will all have 100% morale. Second day lower and so on. After one month in the world, player morale will be 100%. Even after one month you are small and not growing it means you are not playing and deserve to be eaten. It will also stop the abuse of morale in the late game where front cities are of smaller players with low morale. It will also save the smaller players who join late and spend less gold.
I have no problem if Inno spend money earned via gold on improvement of game. Gold + No improvement = Grepolis getting killed.
