Hey

i Know you are super busy, but have you really given up, you have a great thing going. Just because you don't have as much time as you did before to implement the 173 ideas you had doesn't mean you can't get yourself motivated on getting it done little by little. one thing at a time :)

That is Great news, I would say get the things you want done first, or easiest. Small Victories do wonders for morale/motivation.

I really want to see the archived maps, It would Great to see the worlds progress after almost a years worth of progress. Just figuring that you have been archiving since you put your first maps up :)

I don't have a year's worth of data yet though. In fact, I only started with Grepolis 2 months ago or so.
It will become available soonish, when i'm done and when it's moved to a proper server.

But don't let me steal this thread :p

Pi maps would be great, as would dominance maps. Do what you want though, otherwise you'd just burn out. They're awesome :)

how do you make your own database of cities?
to get the cities etc you must have the permission of innogames right?

Search the forums for World Data. AC04 posted some information gleaned from Innogames and myself....

As for my main suggestions they would be 1. World dominance map and 2. Maps for all the new servers.

This week has been busy for me, Freshers' week at my university. Lots of drinking, and generally socialising. Not much work from me so far, I intend to do some shortly.

Suggestions acknowledged. I'll see what I can get going today.

I love the Top 15 Alliances map.

I was wondering if it would be possible to change the Cities Conquered map to show the alliance rather than date? That would make it more useful.

Great suggestion, I am pretty sure it was suggested else where, The answer was a no. Simply because it was to much coding that would be needed to separate the conquers from the data then separate the alliances. Once the map is up it would probably have 20-50 alliances depending on the server then to separate which ones to post (top 15) would be just as big of a hassle.

Or maybe i am wrong hehe, just seems like a lot of work to me :)

Problem viewing maps

As you've probably all noticed, I have posted a bunch of auto updating maps in each of the world forums. There are currently 3 maps that I'm generating. These are:
  • Top 15 players
  • Top 15 alliances
  • Conquers from last 7 days

I am planning to make more maps, and wish to take some ideas on board for new maps.

Each map is generated at the top of the hour, every hour. Each hour, I am also caching the image, so that I can generate mini slide shows showing the progression of worlds etc.

Some ideas for other maps would currently be as follows:

  • Map showing all conquers from all time
  • Map showing top 15 players ODA
  • Map showing top 15 players ODD
  • Map showing top 15 Alliances ODA
  • Map showing top 15 alliances ODD

Please help me to develop this list, so that I can implement more.

Thanks for all the work you have put in. Auto updating maps are a very cool idea. unfortunately, I can not get the map images to show in either IE 8.0, IE 9.0 or FF4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try upgrading to chrome or safari they normally work better than most IE or FF :)

Also AC how did DT make that map in the Rho forum? It has a black background and the colours are very bright. Do you know how it was made? Because I sure don't!

Wouldn't it be a lot more sensible to ask the maker of the map instead of an inactive who didn't even make the map?
